Harris County District Judge Caroline Baker entered a judgment in favor of Titeflex Corporation for $2,266,821.47 against GHX Industrial, LLC.  The final judgment caps a hard-fought battle by Titeflex seeking indemnity from GHX for a 2007 industrial accident.  The case was bifurcated with a jury trial on liability issues and a bench trial on damages.

PY’s David Montpas, working with Beau Miller of Vorys, Sater Seymour and Pease in Houston, assisted with motion and appellate support both at the liability trial as well as assisting with brief in support of Titeflex’s requested indemnity damages.  After the jury determined Titeflex was entitled to indemnity in May 2012, the parties conducted an extensive briefing and had multiple hearings prior to Judge Baker’s determination that Titeflex was entitled to all its indemnity damages.

PY congratulates Titeflex, Andy Etkind (General Counsel for Flex-Tek Group) and Beau Miller for their great work in securing the judgment.
