The Fourth Court of Appeals in San Antonio affirmed summary judgment and jury verdict findings in a case successfully tried by PY in 2013. The lawsuit involved a dispute between partners and partnerships over the sale of hill country real estate. PY’s Kevin Young represented the partnerships and tried the case along with Jackson Walker’s Chris Mugica, who represented one of the partners. As plaintiffs, they prevailed on two summary judgment motions concerning whether the other partner’s permission was necessary to sell the partnership’s property. At trial, Kevin and Chris prevailed on a breach of contract claim and successfully defended the claims asserted by the other partner.

PY’s David Montpas served as lead appellate lawyer for the plaintiffs and argued the case before the court of appeals on December 5, 2013. The case was sent back to the trial court to determine the amount of plaintiffs’ attorneys fees.
